Northampton, UK… The Indian Hindu Welfare Organisation (IHWO) has submitted a planning application for consent to build a landmark high-tech community centre in the Eastern District of Northampton. The centre, which will be open to everyone, will encompass a wide range of exciting activities for sports, recreation, education and entertainment.
“Submitting this planning application is a major milestone for the community and something we have worked hard at to achieve,” said Neelam Aggarwal, Chairperson at IHWO. She added, “We have worked closely with the planning authorities to ensure all requirements are met and expect to hear back from them with a decision in coming months. After receiving the planning approval our aim is to start building work on the centre in 2011.”
In June 2008 Northampton Borough Council (NBC) granted 4.3 acres of land on Lumbertubs Ward, off Lings Way, to IHWO to build the centre. When completed the centre will provide a variety of indoor and outdoor sporting activities; size adjustable venues for small and large events; conference, meeting room and office facilities; social and leisure clubs; a nursery crèche; elderly housing units and a welcoming place of worship.
